Guirec, at the age of 24, took his sailboat Yvinec with his red hen Monique from the north to the south pole. After their transatlantic in May 2014, they spent a year in St Barths earning money and preparing their boat for their trip to the Arctic Ocean. They reached Greenland in August 2015. After touring the west coast for 3 months Guirec and Monique spent the winter there, without means of communication. 130 days and 106 eggs later, they came back to civilization sailing down the Bering Strait toward Alaska. They returned to North Brittany from South Africa mid-December 2018.
In 2021, Guirec completed the transatlantic rowing challenge from east to west, in 74 days – and then rowed back to Brittany.
Guirec plans to compete in the 2024 Vendee Globe.
