I recently shipped my boat with Peter’s & May, WHAT A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Read their terms extremely carefully as it is a one sided contract, that gives them basically the right to do as they please. They can delay, they can divert, they can charge you $35,000/day Demorrage charges without an explanation. Further to all this if they damage your boat, well GOODLUCK. When I took delivery of my boat it was a complete disaster, rust stains on deck, broken components and they refused all claims.
My experience with them has been HELL! From 1-10 I would not even give them a 1.

We are sorry that your experience with Peters & May has not been to the standard you expected but it’s important to put the situation into perspective. To clarify, your shipment was planned to transit the Red Sea and Suez Canal when attacks on cargo vessels related to the Israel/Gaza war started to happen. The shipowner made the difficult decision to deviate the vessel around the Cape of Good Hope, Africa, to ensure a safe onward journey for the vessel, the cargo on board and most importantly not to risk the life of the captain and his crew on board. Whilst additional deviation charges did occur and were charged as per our contract terms & conditions; we trust you understand that this is a very rare case and if possible, we always aim to avoid situations like this. However, given the severe circumstances in that area, safety should always come first not only to your Cargo but also to the people on board. We deeply regret the negative impact that has been caused by this decision, and hope for your kind understanding in this matter.

We are also sorry your cargo was damaged during the shipment and understand that this claim has already been passed to your cargo insurers.

Our team is already in touch with you and will be happy to clarify any outstanding questions.
