A good update for berthing and facilities at Caleta de Sebo, La Graciosa.

The Island of La Graciosa

On the first of August 2019, after 630 miles of ocean, we arrive at La Graciosa, a small island north of Lanzarote.

The small port Caleta de Sebo is managed by “Puertos Canarios” with its website not easy to use. It is not possible to have moorings at the piers if there is no reservation … and even if you have booked, the place is not always free.

We force the situation a little and we manage to moor at the jetty along the breakwater. Here there are no marineros. Looking at the pontoons of the small marina, I notice many empty berths. The marina has rather short fingers. I would say that they are suitable for boats of up to 12 m only.

On the breakwater jetty, there is electricity, but not water. There are many ferries that go back and forth all day, but they don’t disturb.

The island is very beautiful; it has maintained a very natural appearance. With a maximum of 700 inhabitants, it has 3 small supermarkets, a bakery, and a butcher’s shop; many restaurants rather turistic….the roads are all in beaten earth and the asphalt does not exist.

Very beautiful beaches and in the vicinity of the port a beautiful harbor very sheltered from the northern winds “plaia Francesca” with an excellent sandy bottom and adequate shelter.

We paid the port authority 15 € a day for a boat of 15.50 m.
