St. Lucia, Rodney Bay: Thieves Active in the Area at Night
The crew of a yacht on a private dock opposite the marina in Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia were woken in the early hours by a suspicious noise and found their life raft and several other items had been stolen from their vessel, according to a report made to the Caribbean Safety and Security Network (CSSN).

At about 0400HRS the owner/crew of a yacht berthed on a private dock opposite the marina were awakened when they heard a hissing noise. They discovered their companionway boards (not locked) had been removed. They turned on deck lights and searched the dock area and noticed a blinking light ashore. It was coming from their stolen life raft, which had been deployed in the adjacent vacant lot. The cover on the cockpit plotter/radar display was also stolen as well as all of the cash from a wallet left in a pants pocket in the salon.
The police were called and arrived two hours later to take a report. They noticed two sets of footprints near the stolen (but recovered) life raft. The police indicated they would survey for video footage.
