I’m not sure if it is mentioned on the noonsite, but be aware that AIS is mandatory for ANY vessel in Singapore waters. An exception can be negotiated if an AIS is ordered and installed during the stay in Singapore. For more info contact Keppel Bay Marina. There have been many incidents with yachts not having AIS installed and they have been given very high fines!!!

Supplies

General info on buying through suppliers. You can do business with any supplier, as long as you are an international yacht and this can save quite some money. It is worth it to have a boat stamp. Anything will do, as long as it contains the name of the ship and preferably a boat picture. In Singapore these stamps are holy and you can buy anything with any commercial supplier tax-free. Sometimes you have to bring a copy of the ship’s registration though. Just make sure to carry your stamp anywhere when visiting commercial suppliers (not supermarkets or normal shops).

1-Angliss

This is the largest food wholesaler who can assembly any brand which is available in any shop. Long term provisioning can be a lot easier this way. They are a bit more expensive due to the relatively small quantities for yachts, but it saves a few days carrying stuff around Singapore.

3-Pasir Panjang Wholesale centre – Veg & Fruits

9 Wholesale Centre

Singapore 110009

This is the fruit and vegetable market and literally, everything can be found here. Do not believe the sellers when asking whether items have been refrigerated or not, the age or where it comes from. Use your own judgment on this. Since you can select your own goods, it is much preferable over the supermarkets where the fruits and vegetables are usually of poor quality for long-term provisioning.

4-Mustafa center

Low budget superstore where most items can be found. Open 24/7 so pick your time well outside the busy hours. Make sure to arrange for good transportation for all the goods you want to buy.

Marinas

Generic Info.

Most marinas in Singapore have comparable prices. Basically, it comes down to what you are visiting. It is quite easy actually. If you need to do some serious work on the ship, the only place to go in Singapore is Raffles Marina. If you want to see Singapore, the best places to go to are Club One15 and Keppel Bay Marina.

Raffles

Raffles is a good place to do maintenance on board. However, for tourism purposes, you cannot be in a worse place. It takes at least one hour to get into town with buses and the MRT (metro system) and therefore you cannot stay in the city until late. Compared to the other marinas, the facilities (including pool) are not as nice, although not too bad. The charges for clearance is ridiculous though, especially compared to the other marinas.

Club One15

Located on Sentosa Island, this is a new marina which is completely equipped with all facilities anyone may be looking for. The only problem is that there is no possibility to do any serious work on the ship. This is a very luxurious marina with a beautiful swimming pool and very very well maintained pontoons with shore power and water. There are several restaurants and you are 10 minutes away from the city with a free bus service that goes every 15 minutes.

Keppel Bay Marina

This is perhaps the nicest marina in town. Brand new and very helpful with visitors. Several good restaurants are at the marina and all fingers have shore power and water. No pool, but the marina makes it up nicely with their very helpful attitude. The marina is situated 5 minutes walking from the Harbourfront shopping centre and is, therefore, closest to (basically inside) the city. The fees for clearance are very low (20 SGD).
