Gibraltar – marinas, fuel, provisions and anchoring
We have just spent a few days in Queensway Marina. It was a little cheaper than Marina Bay and is a nicer location, near to Main Steet and more attractive waterfront. Both locations have a lot of construction going on so be prepared for your boat to get dirty and dusty.
It is no longer possible to get fuel at Queensway Marina. You have to go to the main fuel quay. Make sure you check on prices with Shell, BP etc. there. We found a 20p difference per litre in what they were quoting.
Although UK products are tempting and available from Morrisons etc., La Linea is much cheaper and better for fresh produce. You can anchor easily. The yacht club at La Linea charge 5 euros a day for leaving your dinghy but it is secure and apparently, there have been thefts.
Everyone we encountered in Gibraltar was incredibly helpful and friendly.
