Red Sea Weather Forecasts
Published 18 years ago, updated 5 years ago
Buoyweather.com (Fee service, approx $US 30/year) gives good weather forecasts for the Red Sea. Forecasts can be received over Sailmail and Winlink.
Note: In the Red Sea, they are no wave model forecasts. You need to use the GFS format “6”. Note that the northerlies will be underestimated by the model due to the compression factor of the topography there.
Our experience was that winds from North and NW are usually twice as strong as predicted.
