Mexico – Baja California Fuel Contacts – More Information

Published 15 years ago, updated 6 years ago

When I was delivering a small motorboat northwards up the coast of the Baja, I struggled to find any contact information on fueling points along the barren coastline.

These are the contact details that I collected along the way and I hope they can prove useful for any other sailors commuting up that coast.

Fuel at the Dock through “Combustibles Mar de Cortes”, Mr. Bediel Leyua, +52 6131360081. Office hours: 0800-1800 Monday to Saturday. For Sunday’s, please phone ahead during office hours. They accept major Credit Cards and Cash.

Bahia Tortugas, Baja California, Mexico:

Additional Information from Chuck Houlihan – December 2009

Bahia Ascuncion – also has fuel in drums that can be purchased by the litre ashore. Not as easy as Turtle Bay where they come out to the boat but an excellent stop. The grocery provisioning was much better than Turtle Bay and the town is well kept and very clean. People were VERY friendly and welcoming. Contact a retired whale researcher Sherry goes by Sirena on VHF 16. She is always very helpful to cruisers.

Mag Bay – Man of War Cove – The port Captain there has always been willing to run across to San Carlos in his Panga and make a fuel run. Of course for a modest fee.
