Marinas Puerto Deportivo Estepona, and Duquesa

Report from Noonsite visitor:
Marinas Puerto Deportivo Estepona and Duquesa are managed by the same company! Avoid Estepona at all costs. Unfriendly marina staff, dirty shower block! Marina water smells from the fishing harbour, no fuel, no lifting out or repairs now they have closed the yard and developed it, into a carpark. Car parking expensive. Bars expensive. A fishing port tax is applied to berthing fees.
Duquesa is to be avoided if you want that Spanish feel. All bars etc are British, noisy and full of drunken Brits, especially at weekends. If a strong westerly to southwesterly is blowing the swell can ground you as you exit / enter over the sand bar. It does have fuel, and a lifting out facility though. But if it’s service with a smile and cheap good labour you are after, then head to Smer, Morocco. If you must stay in Spain on this coast, then Sotogrande is the place to be, it’s not as expensive as you might think. Friendly port staff await you. My family have operated and owned yachts and motor boats in this area for over 30 years, we watched Estepona get built!! We are now moving on.
