I would visit Montenegro again

I keep my 40ft Aqua Blue multihull in Monfalcone Italy. This year we cruised down to Montenegro and back.
I checked in at Zelenika, near Hercegnovi, and there is a long free dock to tie to. We paid 57 Euros for a 7-day vignette and 10 Euros to customs. We spent the night backed up to Hercegnovi harbour wall, charge: 26 Euros (I managed to refuse the multihull surcharge!!). Hercegnovi is an interesting old and very steep town. Diesel was available (and water).
We went down and anchored off Budva, although you can back up to an outer wall. It’s really an open anchorage, no place to be in a blow unless you can get into the old harbour.
The following morning we anchored off Sveti Stefan, but the island is closed to visitors at the moment.
We retraced our steps north and spent a night at Bigova, a wonderful sheltered and free anchorage just south of Kotor.
Back to Kotor gulf we motored right down and backed up to the pontoon off Kotor town wall, where we were stung at 50 Euros a night (but this can happen when you turn up in a 25ft wide tri!). It is apparently possible to anchor some distance away. However we stayed two nights and Kotor is the most original complete mediaeval town, even better than Trogir in Croatia. A must visit really. And I managed the 1356 steps up to the fortress that kept the Turks at bay.
On leaving early we managed to briefly dock at Skrpjela island, an unexpected bonus.
We cleared out again at Zelenika with no further charge for mooring.
I would visit Montenegro again.
