Green Cove Springs – One of the Last “DIY” Marinas in Florida

Published 13 years ago, updated 6 years ago

Green Cove Springs has one of the last “do it yourself” friendly marinas in Florida. The marina has recently expanded its long-term storage capacity so maybe there isn’t a wait list now. Besides this marina, there’s a Reynold’s Park (more formal and less inhabited) marina near, and the City of Green Cove Springs offers short-term docking with power hookups. There is a public dock/ramp right across the street from a grocery supermarket – easy to dinghy and resupply. And some sailboats are anchoring in a cove near the Elk Club and using a drainage ditch for a dinghy dock.

If you have your holding tanks in good order, anchoring is welcome most anywhere along the river and there are public fishing docks/ramps everywhere. In the creeks are fun Fish Camp style restaurants and parks. The main drawback to this wide beautiful river is the fact that the bridges are so low, you are limited by the height of your mast.
