Fiji, Viti Levu, Saweni Bay: Dinghy and Outboard Theft – October 2016
Reported to noonsite first-hand by the skipper.
Published 8 years ago, updated 5 years ago
During October 8-10, 2016, we were anchored in Sewini Bay (between Lautoka and Vuda Point), just off the beach.
On the night of the 9th October, we had our inflatable dinghy and outboard stolen. The dinghy was on the pointer behind the boat (we should have known better) and the outboard was padlocked to the dinghy. The rope had been cut.
No other boats had anything stolen that night, however, when we reported the theft to the police they told us that there were a lot of thefts of dinghies and outboards going on at this moment between Denarau and Lautoka.
