Currents around the Galapagos Island
Published 18 years ago, updated 6 years ago
We have a friend currently crossing the Pacific from Peru to Australia in a rowing boat and would like more information about currents 300 nm south of the Galapagos islands. www.zeemanoceanchallenge.com [Broken Link]
The currents 300 mile of Galapagos are not very strong maximum 1/2 knot setting west. More favourable west setting currents (if he is going that way) are closer to the equator, between 1 and 4 degrees south.
Your best bet is to get a pilot chart of the South Pacific for the month you are interested in. Any chart agent would have it. Such a chart shows currents for every month.
