Caribbean: Bequia, Port Elizabeth – Attempted Burglary
Published 15 years ago, updated 5 years ago
On the evening of 02 May 2010 between the hours of 18:45 and 20:30, our catamaran was boarded whilst we were ashore.
The vessel had been left fully secured with ALL hatches locked, but some set in the “ventilation” position.
Whilst away from the vessel, it was boarded by person/persons unknown who attempted to force open the hatches. The hatch over the Master cabin was successfully forced open, possibly with the use of a steel bar or suchlike. This hatch measures only 10 inches square and so prohibited full access to the cabin.
We wanted to make others aware.
