ANDAMAN ISLANDS – India & SE Asia cruising.
S/V Dreamcatcher has recently completed a cruise of the Malacca Straits, Langkawi, Phuket and spent one month in the Andaman’s (450 miles W of Phuket).
A very descriptive record of their cruise can be found on www.sailblogs.com. The most recent post appears first, so scroll down to “older” to read from the start.
One or two other yachts have recorded very specific information on the Andamans (anchoring co-ordinates etc.), however, Dreamcatcher’s sail blog takes a descriptive approach to the style of cruising and personal experiences of the boat and its’ three fellow cruising yachts.
Glenys and Henry Taylor are happy to pass on photographs of the trip and additional information. Contact them here.
Dreamcatcher and her crew are based in Singapore and have been there for 7 years. The Taylors are very familiar with the Asian sailing environment (see Latitude 38 January edition 2012 for their article on SE Asia). The Taylors sailed Dreamcatcher from San Francisco in 2004.
