Report July 2012 – marina now fully operational.

We overwintered our HR42 here in 2011. Excellent facilities now all open with discounts still being offered at the marina and very comfortable Yacht Club (including pool, spa, and very comfortable rooms). 1.5 hrs by taxi from Izmir or Bodrum airports. Marina less than half full but extremely helpful and friendly staff. We took the opportunity to completely replace the teak deck with Yacht Work who are based there and have been delighted with the result.

Report October 2009 when marina partially opened.

We just had a night-stop in the new D-Marin Didim, Turkey (37°20.21’N 27°15.83’E). I note that it’s not on the list of main Aegean Sea ports and thought you might like to add it. This is a brand new Dogus Group complex only opened in the last few months- all details available on their website at:

We found a warm welcome from the shore-side staff; this new complex is very large, spacious and presently, is empty of boats, save for a few pontoons. The size of the hard and boat shed facilities resembles an airport ramp rather than a boatyard; clearly, they are looking for superyacht business. Discounts are presently available to encourage new business.

The land-side facilities are not quite complete and shopping facilities are still empty shells in the arcade; apart from one bar which has a pleasant terrace overlooking the marina. The marina “yacht club” is just being completed with the installation of furniture, plants, and shrubs. The pool is filled but not yet ready for swimming- nor is the club bar open for drinking yet (as of October 10, 2009).

The approach to the marina is straightforward and the two (red/green) marina entrance lighthouses conspicuous from 3-4 miles. We raised them on VHF CH 72. Berthing is stern to with lazy-lines to the bow.
