COVID19: OPEN PORT
Status: Open to all yachts from 15 June, 2020.

Description:

Cedeira is a very pretty town located in one of the smaller Rias Altas. The old town is very well preserved and attracts summer tourists.

This small ria offers a pleasant refuge, in contrast to the dramatic cliffs to the north and the exposed coast to the south before La Coruna. It can be a pleasant alternative to busy La Coruna after a crossing of the Bay of Biscay.

Position:

43° 40.06’N, 08° 04.94’W (Ria de Cederia entrance)

    Data Entry says:

Beautiful bay surrounded by hills and trees. Good anchorage with not much swell and good holding. No facilities.

When asked, you can get water from the sailing club but it’s not cheap: 400liters for €10,-. There’s a little gas station but only gasoline and for locals. Two supermarkets within 10 minutes walk, gas station 30 minutes walk. You can leave your dinghy at the pontoon from the sailing club.

Good spacious anchorage and excellent shelter. Great spot to finish our 4 day Biscay crossing and rest and recuperate away from the hustle and bustle of A Coruña. Much better sheltered from NW swell too. Didn’t go ashore here.
