Green Turtle Cay Marina has been under construction for some years. After partly opening in September 2011, cruisers report that much of the site has been put on hold and what has been finished has started to fall into disrepair. See comments at bottom of the page for the latest feedback.

The marina is accessed via a short canal with a depth of 10 feet, however, one of the 2 orange balls to guide you it is reported to be missing. In strong easterlies, this entrance can be challenging, however, once inside the marina is extremely sheltered from all directions.

Turtle Cay Marina is a nice little marina, remote and therefore secure. The boats leave their dinghies in the water. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The prices are very moderate, $15- per night or $300- per month. I can leave our 50 ft boat for 6 weeks for $400.- in the marina, water and electricity included.

Posted on behalf of SY Juliane:

We filled our tanks on our way to Colon from the San Blas in the Turtle Cay Marina for free (!) at the petrol station, the water you get is river water so expect a little algae and river taste… We originally planned to stay there a night but reconsidered as we were told that the management had changed.

The marina is dead empty, we got no answer on the VHF (Channel 72), there are showers and coin washing machines (cold water only), but everything looks a bit neglected.

The Wi-Fi, however, works okay and we would have enjoyed surfing a bit longer if there hadn’t been so many sand flies and mosquitos, so we left after filling our water tanks.

Excellent service on Turtle Cay Marina (Nombre de Dios, Colon, Panama), if you want to have a good time, it is the right place… Free water, wifi, fuel dock, beautiful beach, in one word: paradise. Yogi and Samanta will be happy to receive you.

About Turtle Cay 09*35´.9N;079*26´.47W. I agree it is a beautiful place and Yogy, Teresa and Samantha are lovely people, but the management of the Marina have increased the prices in 2014 +40% (from 321$ to 535$). Services are not finished yet (no showers). I had to move my boat to http://panamarina.net/ 09*36´.9N; 079*36´.7W, where you can find a safe mooring field paying 270$/month for a 37´footer.
