We visited Semarang so as to be able to visit Borobudur and Prambanan. Both highly recommended. For the tour, we went to the Tourist Information Centre and used Pram as guide +628123627164 pramacer7@gmail.com.

The cost was $150 pp for 4 people which expensive but did include entry fees to both sites, guides, lunch, driver and car. A good but long day 9 am to 9 pm. We had not been able to fix ahead so not able to bargain or shop around.

Semarang is not easy to port for yachties contrary to Andy Scott. Phenicia harbour packed, and no anchoring in the harbour. We called Pilot on ch12 and were told politely we should have fixed in advance with the agent for a berth.

Pram could help in arranging a berth if there is space. We anchored comfortably outside port just near the break in the western breakwater. Charles Manby S/Y Calliope
