La clearance n.est actuellement plus possible à St Louis chez ZÈLES car ils ne disposent pas de l’ordinateur. Il faut donc faire sa clearance à grand bourg

The boutique that can provide clearance is called “Chez Zeles” and is on the left side of the road when walking away from the pier “up” town. We asked several locals for a place run by “Lilli” and were met with very confused looks. Eventually we were directed to the police who knew where we needed to go, and unfortunately the shop was closed, so we took the bus ride to Grand-Bourg which was very easy. Price for the bus is now 2.50 Euro each. In Grand-Bourg, the customs office (“Doane”) is not very obvious or easily located; it does not appear on Google Maps and we needed to ask around. It is 2 buildings “down” toward the water from the tourist office, a rather nondescript yellow building with a green metal gate in front. Push the gate button and ask for the “Doane” and that you would like to clear in. They were thankfully in the office, and very friendly. They confirmed that the shop at “Chez Zeles” can also process the clearance. We enjoyed the trip to Grand-Bourg so it was not a problem – had a sandwich there and walked around, and then took the bus back to Saint-Louis.

Thanks so much for this feedback – would you know the opening times for Chez Zeles for clearance?

In my comment below, (Laura, April 18), I meant to write Saint Louis, not Port Louis.

April 17, 2019 Checking in at Port Louis in Marie Galante is now easy! Clearance is now very easy at the little boutique run by Lili. Her shop is just two blocks directly up the road from the ferry dock. She will process checking in and out of Guadeloupe daily, from Tuesday through Sunday, between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00. Bring your boat papers and your passports and 5 euros and you will be set. An alternative is to take a fifteen to twenty minute bus ride (2 euros each way and the bus runs about twice an hour) from the bus stop in Port Louis to Grand Bourg and hope that the clearance agent is in his office. He was not there when we went and it was difficult to find any information as to when he could be expected to be around. It is so much easier to do it with Lili in Port Louis. Her phone number is 0690 95 59 75

Clearance in Marie Galante is possible at Saint Louis.
Ask at the mairie for the place.
The Clearance is in an art shop in the main road (N9), the road which continue the platform. Clearence available at 10h am.
    Information controled on April 2019.
No water any more in the anchorage.
