Where is Atiu Island?

Ātiu, also known as ʻEnuamanu (meaning land of the birds) is 214 km (133 miles) northeast of Rarotonga and is more than eight million years old.  It is the 3rd largest island in the Cook Islands group and is home to approximately 400 people,

Cruiser Highlights for Atiu Island:

As one of the three Southern Group islands known as Nga-Pu-Toru, Atiu has a small township, a couple of cafes and very little traffic. Life is pretty much the same as it was some 25 years ago and therefore offers a really genuine insight into island living with its five small villages of Tengatangi, Areora, Ngatiarua, Mapumai and Teenui nestled in the centre.

Gardens thrive on Atiu’s rich soil and the island has a thriving coffee business with Arabica coffee organically grown, hand picked and dried on the island.

Position:

19° 58’42″S, 158° 08’52″W.
