Description:

This harbour lies about 600nm north of Perth, at the mouth of the Gascoyne River. It is a centre for an inshore fishing fleet.

Cruiser Highlights:

South of Carnarvon, is Denham and Sharks Bay. This area has a huge range of wildlife, not only sharks and whales, but manta rays and turtles, a prolific bird population, and at Monkey Mia, wild dolphins approach the shore to be hand fed.

    As of Feb 2019, the Fascine Channel is fully silted up, preventing any access to the Carnarvon Yacht Club. contact the Club for an update on progress with dredging.
