Gladstone - General Info
Where is Gladstone?
Gladstone lies about 100nm north of Bundaberg and is a busy mineral exporting port. There are four main approaches into Gladstone Harbour and the Gladstone Marina.
- South Channel (Main Shipping Channel)
- East Channel
- North Entrance
- The Narrows
Each offer a unique and spectacular way to enter the Harbour. There are a number of published cruising guides and websites, including Maritime Safety Queensland, which provide a detailed description of navigation in and around the Gladstone Harbour and surrounds.
Entrance Notes or Cautions for Gladstone:
Check your tides and plan accordingly for the easiest passage, or leave enough time to combat
the tidal influence. The South Channel and East Channel provide the deepest and safest entrance, allowing passage in all conditions.

Be aware that Gladstone is in the cyclone belt.
