Description:

Crabbs Peninsula is a long narrow finger of land which extends from the northeast coast of Antigua. It lies between Long Island and Guana Island, the fourth and fifth largest islands of Antigua and Barbuda, at the entrance to Parham Harbor.

The small settlement of Parham lies close to the base of the peninsula and Parham Harbor was once the island’s principal harbor and capital.

During the Covid Pandemic it was given port of entry status, but that has now been removed.

Cruiser Highlights:

Small shops for staples. Stroll through the town to view the church architecture. Buses run between Parham and the St. John’s East Bus Station from the morning until late afternoon.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

There is a marked channel leading into the harbor from just off Maiden Island. The channel is easy to spot but do not attempt to enter or leave except under daylight conditions.

Position:

17° 08’N, 61° 46’W

    Reported by Virginia Melik:

I wanted to send noonsite a review of our experience with North Sound Marina and yards in Antigua:
We can only thank Tom and his crew for a great job at “North Sound Marina” for the very good care of our 30 Meters Power expedition cat “Rogue”.

The boat was well taken care of and secure during the hurricane season. Tom did a first class job to haul us out, help us in any way without price gouging. Honest, friendly! Hard to find when you are a bigger boat! I would recommend the yard for any job or long term storage.
