Update on Tourist Murdered in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua

The person who found the body is a fellow cruiser and advised me that the perp has been apprehended and has confessed. The witness saw him leaving the scene. He is in jail awaiting trial. He is a local from Antigua. Further information is that the victim was with friends from the ship and stayed behind alone on the beach to collect shells. Her body was found on the trail over the hill to English Harbour.

On Tuesday, January 19th, 2010, the body of a young woman was discovered in scrub bushes behind Windward beach at the entrance to Falmouth harbor Antigua. She had stab wounds to the neck and was identified as an American tourist, Nina Elizabeth Nilssen, a guest on a visiting cruise ship that was anchored at the entrance to the harbor for the day.
Antigua press reported this as the “first murder of the year”.
The police had a description of the murderer, however, at this present time, no one had been apprehended.
