Singapore: Raffles Marina Receives Official Port of Entry Status

Raffles Marina, located on the western side of Singapore, has been approved to undertake clearance formalities for yachts arriving or departing from this island nation. This will save boats arriving from the west coast of Thailand and Malaysia a significant amount of time as they no longer have to undertake the 80km round trip to the Sisters Island clearance location.

On November 1, 2019 the marina was gazetted as a CIQP Marina, authorised to handle the clearing in / out of visiting foreign yachts and cruising resident yachts, in Singapore.

Raffles Marina is located on the western side of Singapore, adjacent to the Second Link Bridge connecting Singapore and Malaysia.  Undertaking clearance formalities here will save a significant amount of time for boats arriving from the west coast of Thailand and Malaysia on the 80 km (50 mile) round trip to the Sisters Island anchorage and clearance location.

Mr Ray Parry, Chief Executive Officer of RM said he was delighted that the marina was once again able to offer immigration and customs clearance for private vessels coming into or departing from Singapore.

“First and foremost, the CIQP facility is to benefit our members with their international arrivals and departures. Members can now arrive at or leave the marina without having to commute to the Western Quarantine & Immigration Anchorage off Sisters’ Island, for their immigration clearance.

Secondly, we hope to provide visiting yachts an opportunity to enjoy RM hospitality, as meeting the needs of the boating community has long been the club’s mandate.”

Mr Parry told Noonsite that the marina welcomed visiting yachts from all over the world who wanted to spend quality time discovering Singapore, or take advantage of extensive on site repair yard facilities.

“Raffles Marina is also now fully connected to all parts of Singapore via the mass rail train station which is adjacent to the marina entrance,” he said.
