Panama Canal Transit Season – Update on Waiting Times

Update on waiting time for the Panama Canal Transit for yachts in the 2009 Season
Monday, February 19th, 2009
Waiting time for yachts arriving at Cristobal/Colon is still not excessive and most yachts are transiting within a week of having made all arrangements with the Canal Authorities and paid transit fees etc.
There has been an increase in numbers of arriving yachts.
Even though not stated officially, it is believed that the current world shipping situation has resulted in a decrease in commercial transits thus freeing personnel to handle the small vessels (yachts etc.)
Felt you should be advised accordingly and keep you advised.
