New Turkish Regulations for Yachts

Published 16 years ago, updated 6 years ago

On March 3, 2009, a Turkish customs official addressed a group of approximately 70 yachtsmen and yachtswomen at a meeting at Netsel Marina in Marmaris.

He advised that effective January 1, 2009, entry and exit to and from Turkey requires the completion of a detailed inventory form. A sample form was provided. This form, when completed, will be attached to yacht’s cruising permit. The form must show all main items such as engines, generators, sails, all electronic items SSB, VHF, GPS, and all items such as bicycles, binoculars, televisions, stereos, computers, etc.

The inventory list produced upon entry is to match the inventory list produced upon exit. Any changes to the inventory list while in Turkey must be substantiated with purchase invoices or sales receipts identifying the new owner of the goods.

Customs will stamp each inventory list at a cost of approximately 40 to 50 Turkish lira.

Smooth Sailing.
