Hurricane Dorian Makes Landfall in the Bahamas
Update posted September 4, 2019: Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas at Elbow Cay, Abacos on September 1st as a category 5 hurricane. The “strongest hurricane in modern record for the northwest Bahamas” according to the National Hurricane Center.

Bahamas Chatter: Devastation in the Abacos
Report – September 1, 2019
Touching land at lunchtime today with 185mph winds Hurricane Dorian’s path passed over Elbow Cay, Abacos followed by Marsh Harbour, Great Abaco Island- Bahamas.
The hurricane is moving in a westerly direction at 7mph and is expected to proceed towards Grand Bahama Island tonight and move towards the east coast of Florida Monday night, Tuesday morning.
With winds expected between 185-220mph plus a storm surge of 20+ feet above the normal height of tide, the northern Bahamas is in for a difficult time over the next couple of days.
Projected forecasts are that Dorian may only skim past the Florida coast but will continue up past Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina by mid-week.
