After breaking her main mast on the way to Madeira, the yacht Maya I was abandoned approximately 80 nm west of Cabo Sao Vicente in Portugal on September 30, 2021.

MCS Marine Claims Service is offering a € 5.000,00 reward for information that leads to the yacht being found.

The company said MRCC Portugal had sent out warnings to all ships in the area until the end of October but unfortunately without any result.

A spokesperson for MCS Marine Claims Service said they believed the yacht was on its side and was drifting with a broken mast towards Canary Islands were it could arrive around Christmas 2021.

Maya 1 was built in 1963 by Artemo Bugari (Italy).  She is  15.00 x 3.86 x 1.60 m with a stainless steel / wood Deck and dark blue steel Hull.
