Plans are underway to enlarge the Las Palmas Yacht Marina, situated at the south of Puerto de la Luz, Gran Canaria’s main port on the NE corner of the Island.

The Reina Sofia breakwater (outer breakwater) is currently being lengthened by more than 400m to offer greater protection to the Las Palmas Marina.

A green navigation buoy has been stationed 500m south of the breakwater to alert mariners to the works in progress. It is obligatory to pass to the south of this buoy on entering the port.
