Very unfortunate to see Juanjo leaving the marina, without him that marina is nothing, disappointed in the marina managers to drive him away, very bad business decision; during COVID he literally saved us and came by the anchorage each day to give us food and supplies; we have spent many months at the marina and have had a lot of work done in the boatyard. Without Juanjo that marina will not be the same, he was the best marina manager we ever encountered.
CHANGES AT SHELTER BAY MARINA 2025
Marina Manager, Juan Jose Boschetti (or Juanjo as he is more commonly called), has reported on the Shelter Bay Marina WhatsApp group, that he is moving on at the end of the year (2024). He comments, “Seven years ago I came to Panama to run this property, the property turned into my house and what I told my crew from my arrival was, let’s try to make sure our customers’, cruisers’, friends’ needs turn into our needs and let’s try to sort them out for them.” The majority of the 8000+ vessels that Juanjo has assisted will likely agree the customer care was top notch and he will be greatly missed.
we have left our boat for 6 months at the marina, ( on the hard ) they took good care of the boat with monthly report, pictures. Edwin Chavez the shipyard manager is very helpful, friendly and always ready to solve problems or request. Eduardo Vega the dock- master is equally nice, and does a super job finding you a slip and handling your lines. This guy is all smile ! Ranger the driver for the free bus to Colon has given us great tips to found business in Colon. Now with the new bridge is easy to get to colon. Marina, is next to the jungle with many walks and amazing wild life, monkeys, exotic birds, snakes ! If you need stainless work Presitec does a good job. The marina has a net every morning for local news ect..
