John Sanderson and Julia Billingham did a circumnavigation from 2010 to 2018 and previously a circuit of SE Asia in 2002 on board their yacht Baringo (a Wauquiez 43PS).
The couple’s blog and Julia Billingham’s book called Voyages on Baringo have a lot of information on the problems they had, gear fitted, anchorages and countries visited and the great pleasure of long-distance sailing.
They left from Hong Kong and circumnavigated via Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Oman, Yemen, Aden, Sudan, Egypt, Suez Canal, Turkey, Greece Italy (Sicily, Sardinia), Greece – Corfu, Balaeric Islands, Gibraltar, Canary Islands, St Lucia, Grenada, ABC islands, Colombia, San Blas islands, Panama and The Canal, Ecuador (and visited on land Chile, Peru and Bolivia, and Easter island by air), French Polynesia, Niue, Western Samoa, Wallace Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Australia, Indonesia and back to Singapore.
They sold Baringo in Langkawi, Malaysia, to a New Zealand couple.
