August 2008: Yacht boarded at night.

Caribbean, St. Lucia, Soufriere (off the Bat Caves)
December 2008 (Christmas Eve): Yacht boarded at night and burgled.

Caribbean, St. Vincent, Chateaubelair – June 2008: Armed boarding and robbery. This was the fifth yacht attack in this bay reported to the Caribbean Safety Net for the 2007/8 season.

Corsica – August 2008: Armed robbery of super yacht.

Ecuador, near Punta Pedernales – November 2008: Armed robbery.

Guatemala, Lake Izabal – April 2008: Armed robbery.

April 2008: French luxury cruise ship hijacked.
June 2008: German couple seized by pirates. Following payment of a ransom, the pair were freed after 41 days in captivity.
September 2008: French couple seized by pirates. Two weeks after their capture, the couple was freed by the French army.
