This Citizen Science project offers an opportunity for vessel owners to get involved in a water and data collection project focused on understanding the health of Malaysian waters.
UMT Ocean Monitoring project
The International SeaKeepers Society, Asia in a collaborative project with the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), is looking for interested Yachters and Yacht Owners to collect data through water samples within the waters of Malaysia.

The focus of the project is to:
- Assess the abundance and diversity of plankton and the pollution level (if any ) especially the presence of microplastics
- Understand the relationship between plankton and microplastics
- Identify any variations comparing the east coast and west coast of Peninsular Malaysia
