Sicily, Aeolian Islands: Anchoring at Lipari
Published 11 years ago, updated 6 years ago
In August 2013 we anchored here for several days.
In the red area, it is some 5 meters of depth, going to zero near the beach, very good holding. We had a thunderstorm with the wind to 25 knots, no problem, it looks like sand but it is white pumice.
Onshore there is an abandoned quarry.
At the green area there is a beach bar, but when it gets dark they close.
Good beach.
During the day this beach is crowded, at night some 15 percent of the boats stay there, as we did.
The sea temperature was 31 degrees and the water very clear, it looks like the boat is floating in a swimming pool! Lots of different kinds of fish swim around you.
The anchorage is open to the east, but with 2 days of strong westerlies, the swell came also.
