Scheme to Raise Funds for Junior Sailing
Published 14 years ago, updated 6 years ago
Sol Petroleum has teamed up with Nanny Cay Resort & Marina, Tortola, BVI in a pilot scheme to raise funds for the Royal British Virgin Islands Yacht Club (RBVIYC) Junior Sailing Programme.
The collaboration between the two businesses, which is retroactive from January 1, 2011, facilitates the collection of a donation from every gallon of fuel sold at the marina. The monies will be paid over to the RBVIYC each month and will be used to advance the development of the programme for the young sailors of the territory.
As Sol provides the fuel for the majority of marinas in the BVI, it is hoped that the scheme can be expanded in the future.
The youth sailing programme runs on Saturday mornings from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. The aim is to encourage more beginners and new-starters to join, whilst also providing development for intermediate and advanced sailors. To sign up, please contact Guy Phoenix on (284) 494 3286 or e-mail youthsailing@royalbviyc.org
The Royal BVI Yacht Club is a not-for-profit organization.
