Santa Cruz: Recommendation for Chandlery and Boat Supplies
Published 12 years ago, updated 6 years ago
We’re in San Cristobal, Galapagos, and I had the hardest time contacting this helpful company in Santa Cruz. My agent was pretty useless with that.
Anyway, could be very helpful for other cruisers:
Bodega Blanca
Santa Cruz, Galapagos, Ecuador
Ferrerteria (hardware + chandlery/boat supplies store)
ctc. Jason Gallardo (speaks good English)
Tel: 05 252 6615
On the chandlery side, they work with Lewis Marine out of Frt Lauderdale, USA, with about $30,000 a month – so it is a well-stocked department. They carry over 17,000 items in stock and are the largest YAMAHA dealer in the country. Actually Yamaha 4 stroke outboards and generators. They also have the West Marine catalogue, so you can tell them which item you need and they can let you know if they have it, or what they have in stock that is similar.
Maybe it would also be possible to have things shipped to their address, but that would have to be confirmed.
We got Samson lines there, to replace our halyards. The Spanish word for lines is “cabos” by the way.

We were just there a week ago and they are very well stocked. Able to pick up several items that had been on the list for months now. Jason speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable about how to get things done here. Would recommend them highly.
