This is a Port of Entry for Thailand
Note: International clearance is only possible during the high season – from mid-October until mid-May, when ferries are running to and from the Malaysian island of Langkawi.
The clearance process here is reported to be pleasant with an abundance of smiling Thai officials and takes about an hour to complete. Try and avoid the busy times when officials are processing ferry passengers from Langkawi.
Current costs advised by cruisers are:
- Immigration – tbt 500pp
- Customs – tbt 600
- Port clearance – tbt 800
- Weekend charge – tbt 130
