See Suriname Clearance for full details on how to complete clearance here, plus river navigation advice.

By new government rule, all visiting yachts are to proceed to Domburg. It is not possible to anchor near the town unless special permission has been granted. Once settled in Domburg, clearance can be done the next day or two in Paramaribo.

DANGEROUS WRECK IN PARAMARIBO ENTRANCE CHANNEL
Reported by Jesse Smith of s/v Obelisk:

Be aware of the dangerous wreck in the entrance channel to the starboard side, directly opposite green S6 channel marker.

CAUTION: As of May 2016, an east cardinal buoy marks the wreck but the wreck is actually located to the EAST of the buoy! Night entry or inclement weather would be ill-advised as the breaking waves could go unseen until too late. We draw 7.5’ and hugged the green marker putting it 20’ to port with no depth issues. The wreck is awash at mid-tide and below but covered at high tide and undetectable.

    Cardinal Mark/Wreck Position: 06 00 22.559 N 055 12 57.804 W

There is a Marine Chandler named Propellor at the Industrieweg. The staff is very friendly but they do not have too much in stock.
