We used our inflatable to get from Wells Bay mooring field to Fort Bay. A little bit of a rough ride, but doable. No one locks up their dinghies here. Also, bring a stern anchor or tie up your stern to a mooring ball at the dinghy dock.

When we were there, the resupply ship came on a Thursday (but usually comes on Wednesdays). It does not significantly add to the boat traffic in the area, as there are usually a few dive and fishing boats coming in and out.

Don’t even THINK of using the dinghy to travel from Well’s Bay to Fort Bay unless you own a powerful rib and it’s a flat calm… One can access the island from the landing at Well’s if you get the phone number from a taxi driver at Fort Bay.
