New Zealand’s Subantarctic Islands - Clearance
General Process:
This is not a Port of Entry.
Any vessel wishing to visit these islands must contact Zealand’s Department Of Conservation to apply for permission. Entry is by permit only.
There are strictly enforced impact restrictions and codes as well as anti-biodiversity precautions to be taken when visiting here.
Access to the waters around the Islands is managed under the Regional Coastal Plan: Kermadec and Subantarctic Islands (Plan). The Plan controls access and anchoring of vessels within 1000m of all the Islands including;
- excluding access to areas,
- requiring biosecurity inspections of a vessels hull,
- limiting anchoring to specific areas only.
