Cariati - Docking
This marina is very well sheltered from SE and NW, with no swell in winds from either direction. It is shallow however in the approaches with silting, so take care with depths (last reported less than 2.4m at the entrance). Keep close to the Northern breakwater for deeper water. The visitors’ pontoon is the one on the left in the picture (photo courtesy of SY Big Sky).

Knitted so that the fabric itself does not deteriorate in the constant movement that marine flags are usually exposed to, and polyester so that the flag does not weaken in the strong UV-light usually found in the main sailing areas of the world.

Went there end of April 2018, the port is reachable but there is no more administration at this time, so no VHF contact or other guidance. Seems that the entrance is not dredged. We abandoned the idea to enter when depth came to 2,40m and diminishing! Went on the anchor in front of the harbour.
Visited in June 2017, friendly staff, nice old town with award-winning ice cream shop, good supermarkets.
Visitors pontoon is first one to port when entering the harbour, only one other cruiser in port so moored alongside. Good wifi and power, water NOT potable.
