Port Louis Marina was an excellent stop for us after weeks of anchoring. Expensive though. and yes the staff were beyond helpful when docking and leaving. No internet at the boat which was too bad.

    Port Louis Marina Grenada:

We enquired by email about a berth at this marina and received a reply to say all was ok for a 7-night stay. When we arrived they knew nothing about the email and confirmation that we could stay for 7 days.

Anyway, all is well and they helped with our lines. We had a finger pontoon berth – a bit narrow and they asked us to reverse the boat in (not sure why it was necessary to go in stern-to as it was a finger pontoon?).

In the UK, if we are going into a berth they will just say – starboard or port-side-to, they complicated it by telling me to put lines on the starboard side stern and one on the bow and put lines on the midships – and fenders to the waterline on the starboard side.

I think they were trying to be helpful. I guess they get a lot of people who don’t know how to moor a boat.

Sunsail and Moorings have their charter boats here.

You can get a 10% discount if you are members of the Seven Seas Cruising Association, although the marina staff don’t know this so it took a week to get our discount. You have to pay for water and electricity, a deposit for the hard-wired internet connection, but it’s very fast.

A lovely marina, good “hotel standard” showers and toilets. I had a massage and my hair cut at the spa! Laundry service inexpensive. They even have recycling, although it doesn’t seem to get used properly, which is a shame.

Service at the Victory Bar during the day is good but the restaurant staff are very very slow.

Post office across the water near to the Yacht Club. Good supermarket with dinghy park outside. Very helpful in the chandlery.
