Kos - Clearance
For full details on clearing into our out of Greece, including fees see Greece Formalities.
This is a Port of Entry and all necessary authorities are located at the ferry terminal in the main town harbor. Med moor bow or stern-to the town quay (this can be difficult with the Meltemi blowing as it will be on the beam).
The steps to clear in are;
1. Port Police/Immigration – at the Ferry Terminal at the side of the castle. Go around to the side of the building and be sure to tell them that you need passport control and you arrived on your own yacht. Otherwise, you will get the run around if they think you arrived by ferry (different window). You will need 2 copies of the crew list.
2. Customs – for non-EU boats only, also at the Ferry Terminal. Here you pay for your transit log. Be aware that if planning to extend your Transit Log from the initial six months, the officers here might check that the skipper has been out of the EU for 185 days. See the Noonsite EU page for full details.
3. Harbour Master – further west at the traffic light. Here you pay 15 Euros and complete your clearing in process.
