Walking is the most popular form of transport and also the cheapest. Taxis are also relatively cheap and easy to find.

Airports

Seymour/Baltra Airport – On Baltra Island, just north of Santa Cruz. To get to the airport take a taxi direct (US$25 Daytime, US$30 Evening) or a taxi to the bus station and go by bus.

The journey time is 30 minutes by taxi and 45 minutes by bus. Both will drop off at the ferry dock on the Baltra Channel. After a 5-minute ferry
ride (US$1) and a bus ride (15 mins – US$5), you arrive at the airport. You do not need to pre-book the ferry and bus, they run a shuttle service back and forth.

Airlines

Avianca and LATAM fly from mainland Ecuador (Quito and Guayaquil). Both airlines have offices in the town at 18 De Febrero and Avenue Charles Darwin, respectively. An overnight stay may be required on the mainland to fit with connecting flights to Galapagos.

    Data Entry1 says:

Important information for all cruisers who are planning to visit Galapagos Islands: when choosing the agent never ever go for Ronny Sanches, Tironne S.A. We have a very bad experience in March 2018, our passports as well as boat passport was stolen from his office and he even didn’t inform us about that immediately. His phone numbers and office address are wrong in his business card and it was very difficult to cooperate with him.
