The wide entrance to the lagoon is at the northern end of the atoll.

The old navy marina provides a very protected anchorage from any wind except from the northwest.  Can accommodate up to nine boats tied up to the concrete walls and more at anchor.

Another good anchorage is by the pearl farm at Nake (18°24’S,140°40’W).
