Concarneau - Docking
Within the Baie de la Foret are two popular sailing destinations, Port de la Foret and the old town of Concarneau.
Marinas:
La Foret has one of the largest marinas in Brittany and is a safe place to leave a yacht.
Concarneau is a more bustling place and a busy fishing port. Some areas of the port are shallow, so care should be taken when finding a berth, however in the main depths of 6m can be found. There is dock space for vessels up to 115 meters, plus a dry dock in the port (130 x 27m).
The marina in Concarneau has lovely views of Ville Close (the fortified island) and the bathroom facilities are reported to be excellent. It can be exposed here to SW winds and choppy with passing boat traffic, so make sure you fender well.
Anchoring:
It is possible to anchor in Anse de Kersos, just opposite the entrance to Concarneau port. The bay is rather full of local moorings, but it is possible to find space to anchor off the beach on the north side. There may be charges to anchor in the bay.

Excellent staff in Port de Concarneau, toilets are a highlight. Be aware that the marina is quite vulnerable to SW winds, making your stay a bit sloppy. In addition, during the day, fishing boats pass through the channel at speeds higher than expected, causing disturbances in the waters of the visitors’ pontoons. Incredible view of La-Ville Close to your ship. Highly recommended a stopover in Concarneau.
