CloseAnchorages:
It is possible to anchor just outside the marina channel. There is also an anchorage just south of Akuilau Island in the southern end of Nadi Bay.
Moorings:
There are swing moorings managed by the marina that hold yachts up to 15m in length.
Dinghy Docks:
There is a dinghy dock located next to Sails restaurant on the private dock. It is also possible to tie a dinghy at the commercial dock near Cardos and behind the fuel dock. Please liaise with the marina before tying up to any docks within the marina boundary.
The marina has a dinghy dock is right opposite the fuel pontoon.
Go to the marina office and pay $10 per (24 hours) day to keep your dinghy there. This fee includes leaving your rubbish there and they also have recycling gins.
Marinas:
Port Denarau Marina has private berths with power and water for monohulls, multihulls, and super yachts. It is advisable to book in advance during the busy season from May to September. There is good provisioning here with a supermarket, pharmacy and bakery at the end of the dock and Nadi and Namaka towns only a short bus or taxi ride away.
Cyclone Season
During cyclone season the marina works hard to have procedures in place to ensure that all vessels needing protection have access to the cyclone hole in the mangroves. For yachts that need deeper water, it would be prudent to plan to head in a tide or two before the last high tide before the storm, to make certain entry is possible before the local commercial operators block the entrance (they tend to position themselves closest to the exit so they are ready to resume operations as soon as the bad weather passes).
The marina holds a meeting at the start of every cyclone season with all commercial and private yacht owners to discuss the procedure and positioning of all yachts that are planning to be in the area (whether they are marina guests or not). There is quite a bit of space as long as everyone works together.

The television show Survivor is returning to film Seasons 45 and 46, with filming scheduled from April 15th to May 12th, followed by a three-week break and then from June 1st to June 30th.
The production team has included Mana Island and the whole of Yanuya Bay in their proposed MSAF exclusion zones map, and has leased the front beach at Modriki. If filming takes place at Modriki, it is expected to occur for only a few days during the shoot dates, with limited impact on yachts visiting the area.
However, if filming occurs on the beach at Monu opposite Yanuya Village, yacht owners are asked to moor their vessels at Modriki. The exclusion of the whole bay, including Mana Bay, helps the production team police smaller craft. If necessary, yachts may be held outside the channel at Mana for a short period.
Yachts are welcome to enter Mana Bay when filming is not taking place, and yacht skippers are advised to contact the production team representative before heading toward the locations. Mana Island resort is on an exclusive charter, but yacht crew can visit Ratu Kini’s at any time.
US Survivor is back for the seventh consecutive year and will be filming seasons 43 and 44 beginning May til end of June.
The main locations as per previous years are the:
– South end of Monuriki,
– both northern beaches of Tavua and the Long beach on Monu (Qwaqwa) facing Yanuya village.
– Yadua Island (Nautanivono) was leased for the entire shoot period this year.
Regular notices will be sent once shooting schedules are confirmed but for now, they request the following:
From May 1st please give Mana Island a wide berth and please do not enter Mana Bay between May 1st and June 30th.
May 2nd – please stay well clear of Yadua Island.
On May 11th and 12th they also request that all steer clear of Mana Sand Spit (Nuku i Mana) as they will be filming there for those days.

Port Denarau became an official port of entry to Fiji recently.
I booked 3 nights in advance from Tonga, this includes filling out and emailing a 7-page advance notice of arrival form. Be sure to copy the form to the marina as it makes life easier on arrival.
As it happens there was no room on any fingers so I was put on the last available mooring at Fiji$25 per night. I was approx 100 metres from the waterfront cafes, bars, etc. with a dinghy dock to tie up on.
I arrived at about 11 as instructed by the marina on channel 14, and was informed all the officials would arrive at 12, which they did! Very pleasant and efficient too, all done in about 15 minutes.
Fees were Fiji$165 for customs and $320 for garbage, Bio-Security, etc. As I didn’t have enough cash they were happy for me to pay at the marina office after a trip of about 50 metres to an ATM. The official walked over to the office to collect the cash.
There are no exit costs other than mooring fees.
The marina has a good travel lift and hard stand at reasonable costs, with power wash too. Baobab Engineering is an excellent on-site company with Yanmar and Mercury agencies amongst others. I used Ravmarine, note the name, to check out a VHF problem, and it seems to be OK.
The marina has all the usual facilities and despite being the full up and the high season we’re very helpful.
