There are two marinas located close to the city centre

The Old City Marina is about 10 minutes’ walk from the City’s historic “Old Town”. Entry to this marina is through the port, heavy with cruise ship and passenger ferry traffic. Before reaching the outer breakwater of the harbour, yachts should call the Old City Harbor Port Control on VHF Channel 14 for permission to enter. Small craft may enter the Port Basin and depart the navigation channel only during the green traffic light. This marina is surrounded by construction projects so not ideal for a long stay.

One mile west of the Old City Marina is Port Noblessner where there are old industrial structures, a waterfront promenade, a marina (Noblessner Marina), and brand-new residential and business projects.

To the north of the city in Kopli Bay (an old industrial area that is now being revitalized) is the Haven Kakumäe Marina, a five star marina with full facilities. Cruisers report that berthing costs are very reasonable There are good public transport connections into the city and a taxi costs just over 7 euros.

Pirita (five kms from Tallinn Old City) offers two marinas for berthing and clearance is possible here.

The other harbours in the Gulf of Tallinn (Rohuneeme Harbor, Miiduranna Harbor, Vanasadam, Patareisadam, Kalasadam, Lennusadam, Peetri Harbor, Miinisadam, Hundipea Harbor, Paljassaare Harbor, Katariina quay) do not serve pleasure craft.

It might be attractive to go to the Old City Marina.
DON’T. The place is a massive building construction. A much better option is the KAKUMAE Marine. A 5 star marina, reassemble priced, € 35, for a 40 feet boat, with all the facilities what you need including sauna. A €7.5 taxi ride to the center of the Old town.

Btw if you reserve a berth at the Old City Marina they charge an extra fee equivalent to one day on the berth. I was charged 55 Euros for my 45 footer plus another 55 Euros for booking it. Pretty expensive. Suggest not booking, just turning up. Go to one of the other cheaper marinas if full.
